Peter Hook set for appearance at this year’s festival

Hooky is ready to take the stage again and plans to perform the ten tracks from “Unknown Pleasures”, the Manchester based band’s fantastic premier album.

If you’re too young to remember then Unknown Pleasures was released during summer 1979, so it’s quite apt that Peter is returning to the stage at one of the best summer festivals in Europe.  The album is considered one of the most important in driving the growth and development of popular rock music over the past 30 years, it is often cited as pivotal to the success of contemporary bands like The Smiths, The Cure or New Order.

Joy Division had a sad demise following the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis.. Not one to be perturbed, Peter Hook, set up New Order together with Bernard Summer.  31 years later Hook is braving the stage to bring their debut album back to life.
