Benicassim Festival 2024

More Acts Added To Benicassim Line-Up

February 4, 2011 By admin 2 Comments

More acts have been added to the line-up for Benicassim 2011 things are looking as exciting as ever as the new additions include (amongst others):

  • The Streets
  • Mumford & Sons
  • Catpeople
  • Julieta Venegas
  • Lori Meyers

Michael Geoffrey “Mike” Skinner, more commonly known as The Streets, is ready to take the crowd at Benicassim 2011 to new heights.  The Streets will be here promoting their FINAL album – Computers and Blues.  The Streets show is likely to be one to remember especially with Skinner commenting that the final album will be “one more banger” and “dancing music to drink tea to”.  If teas not your thing then there’ll be plenty of beer and other drinks available to quench your thirst.

Mumford & Sons, formed in 2007 will also be performing.  Rising out of the West London folk scene these boys combine an interesting mix of vocals, guitar, drums, mandolin, accordian, bank, dobro and drums making their music catchy, tunes like The Cave and Little Lion Man will not doubt have the crowd dancing and singing along.  If you’re not keen then remember it was not your fault, but mine.

Catpeople will be for most the slightly more obscure band in this list, originating from Barcelona, check them out for yourself by watching the video below:

Julieta Venegas will give things even more of a latin twitst.  The Mexican singer/songwriter combines cutting-edge Latin music with a broadly apealing pop/rock effort.

Lori Meyers is a group of indie Spanish musicians.  Formed in 1998 by four musicians Antonio Lopez (Noni), Alejandro Méndez, Julián Méndez and Alfredo Núñez.  The group has since expanded to include Sergio Martin on Guitar.

So if you’ve not snapped up your tickets, then now’s the time to do so.

Mike Skinner has said that The Streets will make one final album after their next release but he might come back for more when he was 40 and broke .The fourth Streets album Everything Is Borrowed is due out next month. The rapper producer told NME that the next one after that would be the last. It will be a lot more futuristic in terms of production but a lot more train-of-thought.

Does anyone know what time the acts are coming on yet or is nothing confirmed as of yet?
