As with all the northern UK airports we’ve looked at the only downside with flying from Newcastle is that you can’t fly directly in to Valencia (the closest airport to Benicassim). If you were feeling bonkers then you could fly to Valencia from Newcastle with 2 changes and at a cost of around 230quid (at time of writing). Alternatively you could fly into Alicante (only a few hours by car/train from Benicassim) for less than 100quid. If you’re doing this with a group of mates then the money (and time) you save is well worth it and can even leave you enough left over to hire a really nice car or to buy a shed load of beer tokens when you get to the festival!
You could even fly into Barcelona direct from Newcastle for circa 100quid – if you plan ahead and arrive early (or leave late) then you could even spend an additional day or two exploring some of the fascinating sights that this city has to offer and make a proper holiday of things.
