Holiday Apartments

Self-catering apartments near FIB can be excellent value, especially for groups. Here is how to find the best options and book with confidence.

Self-catering apartment near Benicassim

Great Value for Groups of Four or More

Benicassim and the surrounding area has a strong stock of self-catering holiday apartments, many of which were built specifically for the summer tourist trade. For groups of four or more travelling together, splitting the cost of an apartment frequently works out cheaper per head than individual hotel rooms, while giving everyone more space, a kitchen and a shared base to return to.

The ability to self-cater also saves money on food. Stocking up at a local supermarket for breakfasts and pre-festival meals is far cheaper than eating out every day, which is especially useful given that food inside the festival site is expensive.

  • Often better value per head than hotels for groups
  • Kitchen means you can self-cater and cut food costs
  • More space and privacy than a hotel room
  • Air conditioning is standard in most Spanish holiday apartments
  • Ideal for those who want a quieter base away from the campsite

Best Locations for Holiday Apartments

Best Location

Benicassim Town

Apartments in Benicassim itself are the most convenient option. The town centre and beachfront areas offer a range of self-catering properties, most within a short taxi or bus ride of the festival site. Being in town also means easy access to restaurants, shops and the beach outside of festival hours.

These fill up first and command a premium during the festival period. Book as early as possible - ideally as soon as tickets go on sale.

Budget Option

Castellón de la Plana

The nearby city of Castellón de la Plana, around 15 minutes from the festival site by car or taxi, has a much larger and more affordable stock of holiday apartments and rental properties. Prices are significantly lower than in Benicassim during the festival period.

Factor in transport costs to and from the festival each day. Taxis and Uber are usually readily available after shows, but peak-time demand can make waits long.

Alternative

Oropesa del Mar

The resort town of Oropesa del Mar, approximately 10 minutes north of Benicassim, is another popular base for FIB attendees. Holiday apartments here are often better value than those in Benicassim town itself, and the drive or taxi to the festival is short.

A car hire is useful if staying in Oropesa, particularly for late-night returns after the final acts.

Tips

Booking Platforms

Airbnb and Booking.com are the most reliable platforms for finding holiday apartments in this area. Both have good coverage of properties in Benicassim, Castellón and Oropesa. Vrbo is also worth checking for larger group properties.

Read reviews carefully. Look for comments specifically mentioning noise levels and the distance to local amenities, as these vary significantly between properties.

Tips for Booking and Staying in an Apartment

01

Book Early

Holiday apartments near FIB sell out quickly. The best properties in Benicassim town are often gone within days of the festival dates going public. As soon as you have your tickets, start searching. Do not wait until the line-up announcement - by then, the good options are already gone.

02

Air Conditioning is Essential

July temperatures in Benicassim regularly reach 35°C and above. Air conditioning is not a luxury - it is essential for sleeping and recovering between festival days. Filter your search to only show properties with confirmed air conditioning. Do not assume - always check.

03

Check the Check-Out Time

The festival ends on Saturday night. If you are flying home on Sunday, check what time you need to vacate the apartment. Many properties have a standard 10am or 11am check-out, which can create a logistical problem if your flight is in the evening. Ask the host in advance about late check-out options.

04

Stock the Fridge on Arrival

Find the nearest supermarket on your first day and stock up on water, food and breakfast essentials. Spanish supermarkets (Mercadona is excellent and widely available) are well-stocked and affordable. Having food in the apartment means you do not need to eat every meal at festival prices.

05

Plan Late-Night Transport

The main acts at FIB finish between 3am and 4am. Make sure you have a plan for getting back to your apartment at that time. Research the taxi options, save the Uber or local taxi number, and agree a meeting point with your group before the final act starts.

06

Be a Good Neighbour

Remember that Benicassim is a working residential town as well as a festival destination. Be considerate of neighbours when returning late at night. Many apartments are in residential buildings, and noise complaints can cause problems for the whole FIB community in the town.
